As Christmas draws near, the days seem to whirl by in a flurry of lists, glitter, and gatherings. It’s a beautiful kind of busy but somewhere amidst the sparkle, it’s easy to forget to pause.
So, here’s your gentle reminder to stop… just for a moment.
Take a deep breath.
Let the scent of fresh pine fill your senses, that crisp, green note that feels like winter itself. Notice the comforting warmth of cinnamon, the sweet spice of mulled wine, the hush of a cold, sunny morning that glows golden across the frost. These are the small, quiet treasures of the season and when we pause long enough to notice them, they bring a deep, grounding joy.
It’s the same calm I see unfold during any of my Christmas workshops. The chatter softens, hands find a rhythm, and creativity takes over. Working with natural textures like soft moss, fragrant foliage, a hint of dried citrus or cinnamon invites us to slow down and simply be present.
So, amidst the wrapping and rushing, give yourself the gift of stillness. Light a candle, breath in the scent of greenery, and let the beauty of the season surround you. Christmas isn’t just about what we do; it’s about what we feel, create, and quietly appreciate.
If you’d like to experience a little of that calm for yourself, I’d love to welcome you onto one of my Christmas workshops. I provide a space to pause, create and connect with the simple joy of nature at this special time of year. Each workshop offers a slightly different feel and experience, but all are set around a foundation of beautiful natural materials and a moment to create.
